How to Help Keep Your Online Presence Afloat

Blog Image

Though times are tough and many businesses are feeling the squeeze at the moment, it's not all doom and gloom. You might think that your business' online presence will suffer during this time, and that may well be the case, but there are some things you can do to help it keep your company's positions and status, for the time being. Though these solutions aren't foolproof, it's a good idea to continue to check on them and continue to work on them, otherwise all of the work you've done previously will fall away.

Keep an eye on your Analytics

Make sure you keep up to date with your site's Analytics. Are there people visiting your site? What pages are they landing on? What's your bounce rate like? Check up regularly to see what's going on with your traffic - you might be surprised! There are plenty of people sitting at home trawling websites; though they might not need your services right now, they could be looking to the future. It doesn't hurt to keep an eye out, or continue to pay your SEO company a little to keep an eye out for you. The worst thing you could do right now is completely stop your monthly SEO.

Keep your rankings up

Your rankings are ine of the main things that will drop if you don't keep up regular, monthly SEO. It's understandable that you want to cut costs wherever you can at the moment, but stopping your SEO altogether will, over the months, start to undo the work that's already been done. Your rankings will fall - to stagnation on the site and other competitors that are still paying for monthly SEO. You don't want your rankings to be at the bottom of Google when you go back to work, putting you even further behind.

Focus on the demand you have

Are you still able to provide a service or offer a product? Using Google Analytics and your CMS you'll be able to see your most popular item or service. Utilise that! Promote that service or product even more, make sure you're focusing on that for your monthly SEO and ensure your keywords are doing their job. If your product or service is doing really well, perhaps even look into PPC, or promoting on social media such as Facebook advertising. It's important to try and bring in money where you can and if you can provide a service, or product, to people right now then you need to do your best to facilitate that.

Find other ways to promote yourself

Doubling up on social media, make sure you find other ways to get yourself out there. Can you alter your business to engaged with what's currently going on? Can you help your local community? Can you provide food or medical equipment? There are other ways to stay on the radar while doing something good in all of this; see if there's any way you can join in with that. If not, then keeping active on social media is important. Stay fresh in people's minds so that they won't easily forget you while isolating.

It's easy to lose yourself in everything that's happening at the moment, but it's important to still stay focused. Keeping your online presence afloat is a lot easier than you might think and it will serve you well in the long run. If your rankings fall while you're out of action, they'll still be low when you're back in business. You really don't want that.
