Google Search Faces Potential Rival in Apple
In the ever changing world of the internet, it appears that the way we search for information may be very different in the next few years.
Generally, when people want to find something online they visit Google or other search engines, such as Yahoo and Bing, and type in their required key words, such as the name of a restaurant or 'builders in Surrey' for instance.
The emergence of Siri, Apple's voice-activated iPhone assistant, may lead to this changing, however. By using this service for what people are calling a 'casual search', users are able to quickly find information, such as a restaurant's location or the opening times of a store.
This is eradicating the vast need for Google and other online search engines. Although Siri will not allow users to find every piece of information they may need and although Google is still loved by millions, it is a worrying sign for them and one that will not have gone unnoticed.
